Economic Studies and Planning

The firm is well equipped with highly qualified and experienced economists and planners. Experience has been gained regionally and internationally on road and water projects.  The firm has been engaged in several comprehensive planning of roads and water from a single link to networks.  Most of the road transportation planning assignments have been rural based to support and enhance multi-sectoral regional and district development plans and programs.

Specialized services have been provided specifically for road transportation planning and economic analysis, by the team. The team consists of transportation economists, development economists, sociologists, environmentalists, urban and regional planners, transportation engineers, and financial analysts.  On specific projects related to planning and economical analysis, the team has covered route location, with supporting expertise in topographic surveys, aerial photography, digital terrain modeling, satellite imagery analysis and other modern geophysical analytical tools.  It also covers collection and appraisal of relevant data, plans, maps, drawings, conceptual planning and layout design.

Malawi: Agriculture Sector Study

The study involved evaluation of the entire agriculture sector. It involved forestry, crop production, livestock, extension services etc. The study formulated recommendations and implementation to ensure maximum productivity.

Malawi: Development of Tools for Investment Management of Micro-Finance Institutions Operations study

The study called for identification of the environmental and social characteristics of the business operations of the various Micro-Finance Institutions that were benefiting from the district projects and establishment of the extent of any negative environmental impacts. An assessment of the capacity and commitment of each MFI to mainstream environmental management issues in their operations was carried out. A compliance monitoring and supervision mechanism in this function was developed.
