Malawi: Environmental and Socio - Economic Study for a Detailed Design and Reconstruction of the Liwonde – Mangochi Road Project

Consulting services and project work involved rehabilitation of a 70 km long section of the Liwonde-Mangochi Road. The section under consideration was a single carriageway, two lane road.

The Consultant was engaged to investigate the environmental, socio-economic and technical feasibility of improving to road to Trunk Road category whilst taking into account the social development and strategic benefits to be derived from the reconstruction and future operation of such facilities and to explore and establish the basis for the government to decide on the optimal alignment and to improve the requirements for external financing for the project implementation.
